The main task of the plan is to structure the future essay, which must be viewed in advance in the points of the plan and thereby prepare the reader for the correct perception of the text. It is not difficult for the author to imagine what he will write about and how. But strategy and sequence of actions will not interfere in any way. Therefore, when starting work on an essay plan, try to build it using the following algorithm:
First of all, clearly define and formulate the theme of the essay. If we are talking about the examination paper, then the examiner will formulate the topic for you. In other cases, it may be necessary to invent it yourself.
Title the outline of the essay. In most cases, the titles of the work and its plan are the same. Do not forget to indicate the word “Plan” after the heading in the middle of a new line.
Number the points of the plan according to its structure. Focus mainly on the three essential parts: introduction, central part, and conclusions. Depending on the volume and complexity of the composition, each of these parts can be divided into sub-items. But it is not necessary to split the introduction and conclusions, but the central part is really desirable to deploy and select at least two or three more specific subordinate parts in it.
After you yourself answer the question, what goals does the essay pursue, its plan will crystallize almost by itself. For example, it may be an analysis of the main thought of work, a comparison of two opposing theses, and a proof of the idea ofa literary work, a discussion of philosophical problems, or merely a statement of certain events. One way or another, you should understand the direction of the subject of the essay.
The best of all, when drawing up a plan is to use theses as headings of paragraphs and sub-paragraphs. And since theses are concise formulations of ideas, in this way you will kill two birds with one stone. On the one hand, get an excellent benchmark for separating the main content into structural parts. On the other hand, you probably will not be lost in thought, do not break the plot, and do not distort the content of the work.
